Cyclogenesis
Sometimes every day feels like a repetition of the one before - the hectic morning scramble getting to school and to work, the endless cycles of laundry and litter boxes, cooking dinners, and cleaning toilets. But somehow, in all this unchanging domestic tedium, babies are born and parents are buried. One day you are married, and the next you are not. Time is both a circle and a ray. In an effort to confront this reality I re-use, re-exhibit, and re-make older paintings collaborating with them as proxies for former selves. Because time keeps on moving and I feel the same, but I know I never will be again. And neither will you.
